Overview
Roger Houle is a Florida certified Real Estate Appraiser and serves as one of the Firm’s in-house Real Estate Analysts. In this role, Roger assists in conducting in-depth research and analysis to support tax assessment challenges. Roger’s background and various certifications provide him with unique insights and rare knowledge regarding how to address and resolve an assortment of ad valorem taxation issues.
Roger has over four decades of experience as an appraiser across the country. He has conducted appraisal reviews and supported values at all levels in the appeals process from the informal review, settlement negotiations, Value Adjustment Board hearings, and through the court systems. Roger has valuated all types of properties, including retail, hotels, apartments, residential, multi-family, office, proposed and new developments, industrial special use properties, and vacant land.
In 2021, Roger qualified as a Florida Value Adjustment Board Special Magistrate. Since 2009, he has been designated by IAAO as a Certified Assessment Evaluator, recognizing professionalism and competency in a wide range of matters covering property valuation for tax purposes, property tax administration, and property tax policy. Additionally, he is a Florida Certified General Appraiser Instructor and Florida Certified Residential Appraiser.
Immediately prior to joining the firm, Roger served in various roles at the Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser’s Office for over 15 years, including as Assistant Division Director for the Commercial Division. He also previously worked as a Commercial Appraiser for Property Tax Oversight for the Florida Department of Revenue.
